Price Bailey and Partners is a medium sized practice of Chartered Accountants based in East Anglia. In late 1981 they formed a computer services department to provide data processing bureau and consultancy services to their clients under the management of James Greenall, a qualified accountant who was a manager in the small businesses department of the practice's Bishop's Stortford office.

As the department grew it was apparent that the growth potential was being limited by advertising and marketing restrictions in place at that time which inhibited the ability to market these services to businesses not already clients of the accounting practice.

The solution was to establish a separate Limited Company and CODAP Services Limited was incorporated in 1984. Incidentally the name is an acronym for COnsultancy and DAta Processing.

Initially the company offered a purely advisory and introduction service. However, James became frustrated by the poor quality of the training and support being given to his clients by the systems vendors to whom he introduced them and the company began to provide these services itself.

Over the ensuing years James continued to develop and build on the range of skills offered by the company. In 1990 he was offered an opportunity to purchase the company from Price Bailey and seized on the chance to develop the company further in the direction he wanted. In early 1991 he purchased the customer database from the liquidator of Alpha Business Systems, a Pegasus Software dealer based in Hertfordshire, and in late 1992 similarly acquired the customers of Wise Computers, another Pegasus reseller based in the West Midlands.

Nowadays the company specialises in Pegasus Software and continues to develop the skills and services needed to provide its clients with the very best support and services available.
